Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot / Penguin Josh Gad tried to get himself cast in the role of the Penguin, but it sounds like Colin Farrell (Total Recall, In Bruges) has now been confirmed by director Matt Reeves. The Penguin was last played on the big screen by Danny DeVito in Batman Returns, and in fact Farrell almost played Batman back in the day in the never-produced Batman vs. Superman that filmmaker Wolfgang Petersen was developing. Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth Andy Serkis was first rumored to be up for a non-CGI role in the movie in June. In early November word followed that the actor was in early talks for the role of Alfred, Bruce Wayne"s faithful butler. Reeves later confirmed the casting on Twitter. She is apparently playing Bella, "a grassroots political candidate running for office in Gotham. " That hasn"t doused speculation among some fans that she might actually be playing Commissioner Gordon"s daughter Barbara... a. k. Batgirl. John Turturro as Carmine Falcone Matt Reeves announced John Turturro"s casting towards the end of November. The Transformers and Big Lebowski actor will play Carmine Falcone, a mob boss in Gotham City and another enemy for Batman. Peter Sarsgaard as Unknown Character Reeves took to Twitter on December 6 to announce that Peter Sarsgaard has been cast in The Batman. While there"s no confirmation on who he"s playing, social media users in the post"s comments section as well as publications like The Hollywood Reporter are speculating that he"s playing Harvey Dent a. Two-Face. The gif that Reeves used on Twitter -- from the 2015 movie Experimenter -- has two faces in it. Though Pattinson is a capable actor who would have done just fine without knowing what previous Batmen said about the role, it will be fascinating to see just how much one of the worst Batmen inspired Pattinson to do his best. The batman 2007. I honestly just want a comic accurate Scarecrow to appear in a live action movie. The batman soundtrack. It’s not. They can’t just drop Pattinson in with a group that already has established chemistry. Who’s to say he would even gel with Gal, Ezra, Henry, Jason or Ray and co? I’m not seeing it right now. There’s a possibility and rumblings that Ben might be coming back for more. And before someone interjects and says “when will you get it? he said NO”, Ben signed up for Zack’s vision. Then Geoff Johns supposedly pushed Zack out, pushed Ben out, even rewriting the script for The Batman behind Ben’s back without telling him about it, and WB mauled Justice League beyond recognition. Ben is also in a different state of mind now, he’s healthy, in shape, seems happy (Ana De Armas probably has a lot to do with it), he’s reiterated twice (most recently last week) that he loves Zack. Henry is back too. Let’s just say that all bets are off and anything could happen at this point. there’s also a rumor that Ben’s Batman film is back on. We’ll see but never say never.
